ZYCORTAL Suspension is given subcutaneously as replacement therapy for mineralocorticoid deficiency in dogs with primary hypoadrenocorticism (Addison’s disease)

Active ingredient: desoxycorticosterone pivalate 25 mg/ml inj. susp.

In dog with Addison's disease the adrenal glands have been damaged and are not working as well as they should, they do not produce enough cortisol and aldosterone and sometime none at all.

When a dog doesn't produce enough of these hormones it will become unwell and if the levels become very low it can be life threatening.
The symptoms of Addison's disease are similar to other diseases which result in diagnosis being difficult.

The more noticeable signs of Addison's disease are:
- Loss of appetite
- Lethargy
- Weakness
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Weight loss
- Shivering, tremors and muscle stiffness
- Depression
- Dehydration
If left untreated Addison’s disease, can be potentially fatal.

Zycortal is a prolonged release suspension for injection which provides the confidence that Addison's disease will be controlled for
the duration of approximately a month.

Each injection of Zycortal lasts approximately one month, providing long-term control of primary Addison's disease.
Successful treatment will allow the dog to live a normal and happy life.
